Saturday Training Classes

Saturday Training for our Adoptable Dogs

Every Saturday morning, our trainers and volunteers work with training our adoptable dogs. Our goal is to teach them all of the basics to set them up for success in their new home. Come and watch...better yet...come and ADOPT!!!

Missy also goes through Saturday morning training and knows all kinds of tricks. Missy is a 4 year old American Stafford Terrier although we did submit her DNA for testing and her results showed Dalmatian and Chihuahua in her family tree! Missy has great training skills which our volunteers and staff have been working on. She is extremely loving and looking for her forever family. Come and visit her at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. Our adoption center is open daily from 11am-6pm. You can also learn more at www.PeggyAdams.org!

Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League also offers training for the public with their dogs.
  • If you have just adopted a dog and need a little help with the transition, we invite you to attend one of our free (donations appreciated) "drop-in" classes to help you learn the basic commands for you and your new canine partner.
  • All classes are held outside in the training field or inside during bad weather.
  • Classes are held every Saturday - please arrive by 8:30am. Classes start promptly at 9am.
Topics Covered in the Classes:
  • Teaching your dog to sit, lay down, stay, and come
  • Learning to walk your dog in a controlled manner
  • Using techniques to prevent unwanted behavior, like jumping
  • Improved communication and understanding between you and your dog
Training Class provided courtesy of staff and volunteers at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.

From Trash to Treasure - Petunia's Story

Petunia’s life was full of challenges. The three month old kitty was found in a trash bag, abandoned. One of her legs was lame, dragging uselessly on the ground

But while Petunia faced a lot of challenges, she now has a lot of hope. She’s just had successful surgery to remove her bad leg and she’s already moving around much better on her other three. And like all of our adoptable animals, she was spayed, microchipped, and given the vaccinations she needs.

Petunia is ready for adoption. Will you help us find her a home?
