The story of a dog with no home inspired an artist and now the artist is using her talents to inspire others to adopt this longtime resident of Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.
Melissa, a spayed female, black and white American Pit Bull Terrier, has been in our shelter for two years. She's an animal who's lived through some tough times and is expected to bloom in a loving home.
Painter, Levity Tomkinson, heard of the challenges we've faced in finding Melissa a new home and decided to pick up her paint brushes.
She's created a special portrait of Melissa that will be given to the person who adopts this loving animal.
Through her blog, you can see how this portrait took shape. For Tomkinson, picking the right colors to reflect the dog's character was a challenge:
It's our hope that Tomkinson's creation will move Melissa one step closer to a loving home. A Foster Parent of Melissa's says, "All I can say about my dear sweet girl is that she demands
nothing but love. She wants to cuddle and do the right thing. "
The lucky adopter will not only receive the painting but the adoption fee will be waived. Her new owner will also receive FREE Science
Diet food for 1 year, FREE heartworm preventative for 1 year and FREE
vaccines from the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League Clinic for the life of Melissa! In return, she will shower you
with kisses, love and appreciation. Help us find Melissa a new home.
