- They allow people to give our dogs treats without any chance of having a finger bit.
- They create a barrier between you and the animal which reduces the chance of someone unknowingly passing an infection to an animal. As you know, illness and recovery time can greatly lengthen an animal's time at the shelter.
- Look for the colored baskets in our kennels with doggie treats inside.
- Practice Kennel Zen by dropping a treat into the funnel if the dog is sitting quietly with all 4 paws on the floor.
This is not just about letting the dogs enjoy a snack.
We want them be more comfortable around strangers. Did you know that when dogs in a kennel are nervous, they can exhibit
stressful behavior like jumping, barking, or rushing to the front of their
cages?
The more relaxed our dogs are with new faces, the more
they’ll learn and demonstrate good adoptable behavior. So help us funnel these wonderful dogs to a new home!
