Every animal who arrives at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is beautiful but sometimes they need a little help cleaning up. That's where grooming comes in.
Did you know that these dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens receive some extra TLC in our grooming room? Maybe they need a haircut, a shampoo, or even a nail clipping.
This process takes time and costs money but we want to make sure that our adoptable animals are looking and feeling their best. Susan, from our staff, does a great job of trimming, washing, and tending to the needs of each dog.
Pet Praise has been a wonderful partner in this effort. The company donates shampoo and conditioner.
To see first hand how this ongoing donation is making a difference, watch this video:
Does your dog need a good washing? You might want to bring him or her to our Walk for the Animals event which this year will feature a Celebrity Pet Wash.

Santa knows that it can be hard to find the perfect gift for your friends, family, and your animals. Mr. Claus knows that if someone has been "nice" this past year, the perfect present can be found at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.
Santa suggests that you visit the Shaggy Shoppe, which is next to our main lobby in the Grace Pavilion. Inside you'll find more than 800 items including animal toys, treats, car magnets, leashes, and transport carriers. Did we mention that we also have a selection of holiday themed costumes that will make your animal the hit of any party.
Maybe you're in search of a different kind of treasure. You'll likely find it at our Thrift Store.New items like furniture, antiques, art, and clothing appear every day. Our Thrift Store is just a short sleigh ride away at 1905 S. Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach. Store Hours: Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 6:00pm. Want an up-close preview? Watch this video:
Santa also know that some shoppers want our animals to receive support during the holiday season. They make a donation to Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League in honor of friends, family, and beloved cats and dogs. Making a gift online is easy and a lot less painful than standing on line at a busy store.
Maybe you'd like your gift to be something you, your family and friends, and your animals can do together. Then you might want to create a team and register for our annual Barry Crown Walk for the Animals event. This amazing day will take place on March 9 at Downtown at the Gardens. To find out more and to create your team, go to Walk With Peggy.
Put a Peggy Adams Animal Rescue twist on your holiday giving. You'll surprise people with great gifts and help the animals at the same time as all proceeds go directly to the care of our cats and dogs.
History
was made at the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League’s annual Christmas Ball. The
40th edition of the Ball saw the shelter toast its 3,000th
adoption for 2012.
One
of the highlights of the evening is always the parade of adoptable dogs and
cats through the dining room. It was then that a dog named Tiger made history.
“Once
he put his paw on me, that was it,” said Timothy Scanlon. He and his family
then decided to adopt Tiger.
Every
dog, cat, puppy, or kitten that comes to Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League
receives a wellness check, is spay/neutered, given appropriate vaccinations and
a microchip identifier. All adoptions include free dog and puppy training.
“To
have 3,000 adoptions in one year is amazing,” said Rich Anderson. “And to have
it happen with so many friends and supporters in the room at our ball made the
moment even sweeter.”
Every
day new adoptable animals arrive at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League and are
promoted on the agency’s website: hspb.org.
“There
are so many loving animals in need of a forever home in Palm Beach County,”
said Anderson. “With the help our staff and volunteers, creative promotions,
and fantastic animals, we’ve managed to set a new record. Our commitment will
continue in 2013.”
